Waste Reduction and Recycling - Sustainability
The City of Lawrence will host an electronics recycling event May 13, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the North parking lot of Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.
The County offers convenient recycling drop off bins to help our residents recycle.
Hazardous waste may pose a threat to sanitation workers or public health and the environment when improperly handled or disposed. The City of Lawrence and Douglas County offer options for conveniently and safely managing hazardous waste.

Looking for how to recycle other items (i.e. batteries, cell phones, tires, etc.)?
Although the County does not provide curbside recycling for our residents, the cities of Lawrence, Eudora, and Baldwin City do.
