Monday, August 6, 2018 - 10:01am

District Attorney Charles Branson announced today that on July, 31, 2018, Elmoses Blackwell of Denver, Colorado, entered a no contest plea to Aggravated Criminal Sodomy and two counts of Robbery.

The plea encompassed two cases that for purposes of the plea were consolidated into one.  Over the course of several days beginning on May 28, 2017 and ending on June 7, 2017, the defendant participated in several robberies.

On May 28, 2017, the defendant along with two as yet uncharged individuals broke into an apartment at 1012 Emery Street, stole several items of personal property including a television, phones and US Currency, and forced the two occupants present to engage in a nonconsensual sex act.

Several days later, on June 7, 2017, the defendant drove into the Checker’s parking lot and forced an individual going into the store to handover the individual’s phone and money.  A co-defendant in that crime, Chrystal White, has already pled to one count of robbery and is currently serving time in KDOC.

As part of the plea, the defendant has agreed to serve 306 months in KDOC.  Blackwell will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
