GIS Day 2016 Activities

Friday, November 11, 2016 - 2:33pm

Douglas County GIS will celebrate GIS Day 2016 next Wednesday, November 16, with two activities:

GIS @ KU – Douglas County GIS staff will be available at a sponsor table during the University of Kansas annual GIS Day Information and Job Fair. Learn more about how the county uses GIS to support workflows for many different departments and see demonstrations of some of our projects.

Demonstration at Lawrence Public Library – Amy Roust will be leading a hands-on demonstration of the Interactive Property Viewer on the County’s website. Some computers will be available for attendees to use, but you are welcome to bring your own device (including tablets and smart phones). The presentation will be in Meeting Room B at 7 pm.

We invite and encourage everyone to join us or find other ways to learn more about how geography impacts your life. Visit the GIS Day website and National Geographic’s Geography Awareness Week website for the history of both events and to access educational resources and activities.
